Checkatrade for Business – Cancellation Policy

Effective from 26th March 2026

This Cancellation Policy forms part of the Checkatrade for Business Product Terms and applies to cancellation of booked jobs arranged through the Platform. It sets out the cancellation charges that apply if a booked job is cancelled.

1. Cancellation by the Business

If a Business cancels a booked job, cancellation charges may apply as set out below.

(a) More than 24 hours before the scheduled start time

No cancellation payment is payable.

(b) Less than 24 hours but more than 2 hours before the scheduled start time

A cancellation charge equal to the lesser of:

• £75; or
• 25% of the Job Value.

(c) Less than 2 hours before the scheduled start time

A cancellation charge equal to the lesser of:

• £150; or
• 50% of the Job Value.

2. No Access or Unavailable Site

If the Trade attends at the agreed time but:

• access to the property is not possible;
• the Business or its representative is unavailable; or
• the works cannot proceed for reasons within the Business's control,

the Trade must notify us through the Platform.

If the issue is the Trade will be paid the greater of:

• £75; or
• 50% of the Job Value.

If the job is rescheduled and completed, the full Job Value will apply in accordance with the Product Terms.

3. Cancellation by Trade

If a Trade cancels a booked job, no cancellation charge applies.

Repeated short-notice cancellations by a Trade may result in suspension or termination in accordance with the Product Terms and Master Service Terms.

4. How Cancellation Payments Are Processed

Where a cancellation charge applies:

• it is calculated by reference to the Job Value shown on the Platform; and
• it is handled in accordance with the applicable Product Terms.

Any Service Fee will be deducted from amounts released to the Trade in accordance with the Product Terms.

5. Scope

This Policy applies only to cancellation of booked jobs. It does not determine disputes relating to the quality or performance of the works, which remain matters between the Trade and the Business.

6. Updates

We may update this Cancellation Policy from time to time. The version in place at the time of cancellation will apply.
